Dan Simmons, April 4, 1948 – February 21, 2026

We are greatly saddened to learn of the death of Dan Simmons, an author who remains important to our guiding aesthetic. Literate but grounded in story; grounded in story but never sloppy or facile, his style is unfortunately inimitable. His spirit is present in every character, his ever character also a continuation of older modes. There is something for every reader in his work. Would that we could all set a table as heavy and varied as he could.
