Ballard on the Beam

Our copyeditor was looking green about the gills the other day. At first we thought it was because he had inadvertently read something published after 1980. "When is this Ballard novel we have been living through going to end?" he asked in desperation. We were briefly disoriented until a fellow from our rights department supplied immediate rejoinder: "When, exactly, would you say it began?"

Dave Truesdale of Tangent Online  warned of dire straights way back in 2005. And oh how dire they were to be.
